Ms. Cindy Froiland

Cindy Froiland graduated from Lincoln High School in Sioux Falls, SD in 1979.  She acquired her BS in English Education from USD in 1983 and that fall was hired to teach Language Arts at Parker High School; she has taught all secondary grades at various times in her career.

In 1997 she went back to USD participating in the PDC program.  Through that program she mentored four first-year teachers while acquiring a Masters Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies and an endorsement in Library Media.  From 2002 – 2011 Froiland was the high school PHS Library Media Specialist while teaching various Language Arts classes and even a JH Computer class.  In the fall of 2011, Ms. Froiland was assigned to teach 10th through 12th Grade Language Arts up in the hallway where she first began her PHS teaching career.  In addition to her teaching assignments, her co-curricular responsibilities are JH/HS National Honor Society, JH/HS Oral Interpretation, Newspaper, JH/HS Drill Team, Senior Experience Director, and Senior Class Adviser.

Outside of school, Froiland is the director of the ever-popular Parker Stars, a non-competitive cheer/dance group for girls ages 4 – 6th grade.  Her biggest pride is her daughter Stephanie, who graduated from PHS in 2005 and SDSU in 2009. Stephanie and her husband Joe had a son in February 2015 so Ms. Froiland truly enjoys spending time with little Ethan. Ms. Froiland works at school with her significant other of 27 years, Roger Knecht, who has his own numerous duties at PHS and gets help from Froiland by being a grandparent to his 9 grandchildren!
