History

In 1911, twenty-three years after the grade school was built, a new building was erected for the purpose of education for the high school students in Parker and vicinity.

This was a great advantage for high school students who were previously situated in the grade building, therefore, they did not have proper equipment, or sufficient room in which to work.

The high school building was improved, by having a large assembly which all four classes used for a study hall.  Individual class rooms were provided, a better lighting system was installed, and a better stock of books were provided from which to gain knowledge and information.

In 1939, further improvements were made.  These included the terrazo steps leading to the assembly, and to the new building.  Likewise the hall was widened by the removal of the steps leading to the superintendent's former office.  It is now situated in the new building.  Concrete steps replace the board steps leading to the outside door.  The ceiling in the lower hall was replaced with a new fireproof wood called Celotex.
